I have been a coach for high school and youth sports for 15 years, and a parent for 17. During this time I have been on both sides of quite a few “fundraising nightmares”. As a coach we have to negotiate contracts with the company of whatever product our kids will be selling. After the kids sell, we then have to get all of the orders to that company, and then when the product is ready, usually weeks later, we have to go and pick up whatever it is... Then set up a time and place to meet the parents and kids and hand it all out. If a kid doesn’t show up we have to deliver it to them. As a parent we have to go to a designated place to pick up our children’s orders, and then we have to drive around to each of the people’s houses that ordered from our children hoping they are home so we don’t have to make a return trip. All of this effort only yields a small profit from the product we’ve sold. We are about to make you look at fundraising in a whole different light. I will meet with your group, explain the process, and hand out the catalogs. All your group needs to do is the selling! I will then pick up the orders and do all the rest. All you need to do is deposit your check!

One of the most important things for me is that every kid should be able to play the sport they want, join that club, participate in a camp, or go on that group trip. No child should be left out because their family can’t afford it. I as a parent know how expensive club sports are. Some clubs cost $900 or more to play. That is a lot of money, and RAISE THE BAR wants to help. We have a program called “FEE-BUSTER”, it give the kids a way to pay all or part of their fees. This program benefits the families and the programs by bringing more kids into it.
